Complete Site Development, Land Clearing and Demolition
Many Arborists are not equipped to clear land or do site development, however Crosson & Payne can clear your lot, haul in all fill to properly build your foundation, and final grade your site. When mature trees are left on the property, our ISA Certified Arborists® can provide a detailed evaluation and proper pruning. If construction is planned, our staff can set up tree protection zones to protect your mature trees and their root systems throughout the construction process. We are well equipped with 18 to 25 ton excavators, wheel loaders, dozer, compact tracked loaders, vibratory roller, tri axle dumps, semi with dump trailer and lowboys to clear your land and complete your site prep with precision. We can demolish and properly dispose of unwanted structures. We deliver and install fill dirt, clay, shell rock, limestone base rock, stone aggregate, and asphalt millings. Our experience spans from installing small driveways to large road projects.
Tree Evaluation
If you have questions about the aesthetics, health, stability or risk posed by a tree on your property, as ISA Certified Arborists®, we can provide the answers you seek. Crosson & Payne can recommend treatment for ill trees, determine whether or not a tree is structurally sound, and assess potential risk when trees are located close to structures or utilities. Our extensive knowledge obtained through the ISA Certified Arborists® certification program makes us experts in our field.
Tree Removal
With a variety of tools and machinery at their disposal, Crosson & Payne can be trusted to remove trees of any size and structure from residential or commercial properties. Our fleet consists of bucket trucks with a material handler that works as a crane arm, as well as two lighter-weight backyard aerial lifts that are safe to use on residential lawns. For removal of large trees overhanging homes or other structures, we protect your roof by skillfully using rope and pulley systems to lower heavy tree material in a controlled manner. At Crosson & Payne, the safety of person and property is paramount.
Stump Grinding
While some people like to leave the stump behind when they remove a tree, there are several good reasons to remove it. At Crosson & Payne, we remove stumps for aesthetic purposes, to keep termites and other insects out of the yard (a decaying stump is the perfect breeding ground for pests) and for ease of lawn mowing.
With two stump grinders, including one remote-controlled track mounted and one remote-controlled four-wheel drive grinder, track mounted and a four-wheel drive stump grinder, “we can grind pretty much any stump known to man” as Travis puts it. We have ground stumps up to 11 feet in diameter and up to 18 inches deep. For stumps that cannot be ground due to location, for example those situated over utilities or wells, we can chemically treat the stump to ensure it does not sprout unattractive re-growth.
Tree Pruning
There is a wrong way and a right way to prune a tree, and unfortunately many tree service companies continue to use poor practices such as “topping,” which are visually unappealing as well as damaging to the tree.
As ISA Certified Arborists®, we at Crosson & Payne use techniques that ensure an appealing canopy while protecting the overall structure, health and longevity of the plant.
Forestry Mulching
For our clients who need land cleared of unwanted vegetation and underbrush, we have the equipment to do even the largest job. Whether you are maintaining fence lines on a ranch, need fire lines cut in a state park or simply want to make your property useful, our fleet of three skid-steer loaders and one Fecon FTX 148L bull hog forestry mulcher are at your service. We are proud to say that our forestry mulching services have been contracted by Florida State Parks as well as the United States Air Force.
